From 8 to 12 September, Ms Tian from the International School and Ms Li from the School of Health were invited to the University of Manchester, UK, to participate in the British Educational Research Association (BERA) 2024 Annual Conference and the World Educational Research Association (WERA) 2024 Focus Meeting. Jointly organised by BERA and WERA, the conference, with the theme of ‘The Future of Education in a Changing World’, aimed at exploring how education can adapt, lead and shape a brighter future amidst the wave of global change.

At the conference, Mr Tian gave a presentation entitled ‘A Study of Family Dysfunction to Adolescent Mental Health Disorders’. The study is closely related to the content and spirit of the newly introduced Family Education Promotion Law of the People's Republic of China, which not only provides theoretical support and practical guidance for the effective promotion of adolescent mental health and the construction of a harmonious family environment, but also sets a new benchmark for the management of family education. Ms Tian's report was widely noticed by the participants, and she then had in-depth exchanges and clashes of ideas with scholars from many countries.

During the conference, the two teachers actively participated not only in the academic lectures organised by the conference, but also established extensive contacts and in-depth academic exchanges with many international education researchers. The participation in the conference broadened the international vision of the teachers, and also represented our university to make a strong voice of Chinese family education research on the international stage, and enhanced the international influence of our academic research.
