From 11 to 14 September, 2024 Wuxi International Summit & Exhibition for Applied Education and TVET was held in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, and Liu Jinyi, Secretary of the Party Committee of Binzhou Polytechnic, attended the meeting and made a keynote speech.
Binzhou Polytechnic declared ‘skills as oars, culture as sails, school and enterprise “with the ship to the sea” - Binzhou Polytechnic with the enterprise to the sea in Africa’ was successfully selected as the outstanding cases of vocational education innovation and cooperation in North and Central Africa, and the ‘Chinese + vocational skills’ project was evaluated as the excellent demonstration project of the International Education Innovation Alliance in North and Central Africa. The project of ‘Chinese language + vocational skills’ was evaluated as the excellent demonstration project of China-North Africa International Education Innovation Alliance. Binzhou Polytechnic was awarded as ‘Excellent Cooperation Unit of Vocational Education in 2024’ by the Ministry of Technical Education, Vocational Training and Apprenticeship of Côte d'Ivoire. The relevant responsible comrades of International School and College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering attended the meeting.
More than 20 seminars and professional forums were held to provide a platform for vocational colleges and institutions to learn and exchange ideas. Chinese and foreign experts and scholars at the conference focused on ‘Chinese + Vocational Skills’ and exchanged views on the themes of ‘Vocational Education Going to the Sea’ and ‘Integration of Industry and Education’ for high-quality development.
Liu Jinyi introduced the basic situation of the school in his speech, saying that the school has always attached great importance to the internationalisation of the school, and has established a wide range of cooperative relationships with African universities and educational institutions, and achieved fruitful results.
He hoped that in the future, the school would work hand in hand with the sister institutions and do its best to explore the sustainable development path of ‘Chinese language + vocational skills’, so as to inject new human resources into the economic and social development of the ‘Belt and Road’ countries.

After the conference, Liu Jinyi was interviewed by China Education Television and answered reporters' questions on the development trend of “Chinese + Vocational Skills” education, the challenges faced and the unique advantages of Shandong's vocational colleges in “going to sea with enterprises”.

In the next step, the school will closely focus on the international production capacity cooperation and the in-depth implementation of ‘One Belt, One Road’, further promote ‘Vocational Education Going to the Sea’, and realise the in-depth integration development of ‘Chinese language + vocational skills’. The school will further promote ‘vocational education going overseas’, achieve ‘Chinese + vocational skills’ in-depth integration and development, and continuously cultivate high-level composite talents with an international outlook, so as to draw a bigger concentric circle of opening up of China's education in the new era.
