In recent years, Binzhou Polytechnic has actively responded to the call of the Chinese and Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Centre of the Ministry of Education, given full play to its own advantages, and successfully organised a number of distinctive ‘Chinese Bridge’ online group exchange programmes. These programmes not only promote exchanges between Chinese and foreign young students, teachers and education administrators, but also deepen international students' understanding and experience of Chinese language and culture. Below are five introductions of Chinese Bridge programmes:

I. Chinese + Electromechanical Equipment Operation and Control ‘Chinese Bridge’ Online Group Exchange Programme

This project, hosted by the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Binzhou Polytechnic, was successfully approved and successfully implemented. The project attracted the participation of more than one hundred trainees from many countries such as Pakistan, DRC, Guinea and so on. Through the online platform, the project combines language learning with the training of electromechanical equipment operation and control skills, and designs multidisciplinary courses including industrial Chinese, Yellow River culture, and electromechanical equipment control. Innovative teaching modes, such as the combination of online live broadcasting and video broadcasting, broke the limitations of time zones and space and ensured the teaching quality and learning effect. The programme not only enhanced the Chinese language proficiency of the participants, but also enabled them to master practical vocational skills, laying a solid foundation for their future career development.

II. Chinese + Construction Machinery Operation and Maintenance ‘Chinese Bridge’ online exchange group programme

The programme was also hosted by the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Binzhou Polytechnic, and brought together more than 60 students from Pakistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Guinea and other countries. The programme was centred on the theme of ‘Chinese language + vocational skills’, covering a wide range of disciplines such as industrial Chinese, Yellow River culture, engineering machinery, etc. Through innovative curriculum design, language learning and practical skills training were closely integrated. During the programme, participants studied a number of courses in depth, achieving an organic blend of language and vocational skills. The teaching methods of online live broadcasting and subsequent recording ensured the high quality of the courses and greatly facilitated the learning of the participants.

III. Chinese Bridge Project ‘Into the Aluminium Valley of the World’ along the Yellow Line

The project was declared and approved by the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Binzhou Polytechnic and funded by the Chinese and Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Centre of the Ministry of Education. The project aims at spreading ‘Yellow River Culture, High-end Aluminium Industry’, and building a platform for overseas Chinese learners and Chinese culture lovers to have mutual exchanges, in-depth experience and enhance friendship. The project team consists of teachers with overseas study and working experience. Through online groups, the project focuses on the two main themes of ‘Yellow River Culture’ and ‘Aluminium Valley of the World’, covering industrial Chinese, Yellow River culture, CNC machining and high-end aluminium products, and so on. The programme covers industrial Chinese, Yellow River culture, CNC machining and high-end aluminium products. During the implementation of the project, it was warmly welcomed and highly evaluated by the overseas students.

IV. Chinese Bridge Online Group Exchange Programme for ‘Entering the Home Textile Capital and Experiencing the Recreation Journey’ along the Yellow River

Relying on the industrial characteristics and advantages of Binzhou, the ‘Home Textile Capital’, this project aims to promote Sino-foreign exchanges through the method of ‘Chinese language + vocational skills’. The project selects friendly cooperative institutions and international Chinese enthusiasts, and adopts the method of ‘language live class + culture video class + online communication and interaction’ to conduct the teaching. The courses cover culture and language courses such as Yellow River culture, textile art and recreation culture, as well as industrial skills courses such as introduction to textile technology and production and processing of recreation equipment. The programme provided a platform for the participants to enter the ‘Home Textile Capital’ and appreciate the healthcare industry, promoted inter-regional technical exchanges and cooperation, and inspired the participants to learn Chinese language knowledge and explore Chinese culture.

V. Hanyuqiao online group project on research and study along the Yellow River ‘Into the Aluminium Valley of the World’ (to be held again)

As a repeat of the Chinese Bridge Program ‘Into the World Aluminium Valley’, the program has further optimized its curriculum design and teaching methods while maintaining its original characteristics. The project continues to focus on the two themes of ‘Yellow River Culture’ and ‘Aluminium Valley of the World’, and conducts courses in various disciplines, including industrial Chinese, Yellow River culture, CNC machining and high-end aluminium products. Through online groups, the programme attracted overseas participants from India, Indonesia, Pakistan and other countries. After nearly two weeks of exchange and learning, the participants not only improved their Chinese language skills, but also gained a deeper understanding and experience of the Yellow River culture and high-end aluminium industry.
