Luban-Mozi College, guided by Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, will give full play to Shandong Province's advantages in traditional culture as the hometown of ‘Sage of Craftsmanship’ Luban and ‘Sage of Chinese Science’ Mozi, as well as its educational advantages as the highland for the development of international vocational education and its geographical advantages as the important intersection of the Sea-Land Silk Road. Shandong Province gives full play to its traditional cultural advantages as the hometown of ‘Sage of Craftsmen’ Luban and ‘Sage of Chinese Science’ Mozi, its educational advantages as the international vocational education innovation and development highland, and its location as an important intersection of the Sea and Land Silk Roads, so as to co-ordinately do a good job of ‘bringing in’ and ‘going out’, and share the fruits of the development of vocational education with countries that are building the ‘One Belt One Road’. With international industrial cooperation as the main task, school-enterprise cooperation as the main mode, and ‘vocational skills + Chinese language’ as the main content, we will plan as a whole, actively promote and implement in phases the construction of a number of overseas engineering and technology universities, vocational and technical colleges, and school sites, so as to cultivate local technical and skilled talents and international talents urgently needed by overseas Chinese enterprises, and enhance the quality of local Chinese enterprises' education. Luban-Mozi College will cultivate local technical and technical talents and international talents urgently needed by overseas Chinese-funded enterprises, enhance the employability of local people, promote industrial development and improve people's livelihoods, and shape a ‘Luban-Mozi College’ brand of overseas vocational education that is grounded in the spirit of the people and brings people's hearts together, so as to inject educational power into the construction of the Community of Human Destinies.
Luban-Mozi College adheres to the five principles of ‘teaching with output, industry and education’, ‘provincial coordination, cross-border clustering’, ‘skills first, promoting cooperation’, ‘internal and external linkage, two-way mutual promotion’, and ‘active and steady, seeking practical results’. The main tasks of the institute are to establish a sound school sponsoring institution, carry out local staff training, implement academic education, develop teaching resources, explore the ‘digital university’ to go overseas, promote the recognition of standards, serve the local economic and social development, promote humanistic exchanges, organise students to come to study in China, and carry out regional and country-specific researches.
Binzhou Polytechnic has established Luban-Mozi College with a number of enterprises and overseas colleges and universities, including China Radio and Television Corporation, China Railway Huagang Mining Company Limited, and New Era University College of Malaysia, etc. These partners have profound knowledge in their respective fields. These partners, with profound strength and abundant resources in their respective fields, have provided strong support to the development of Luban-Mozi College by developing vocational training and professional education in response to the needs of the local and international markets respectively.
The specialities of Luban-Mozi College cover a wide range of fields such as port and shipping management, mechatronics technology, electrical automation technology and so on. These specialisations are closely in line with the international market demand, aiming to cultivate highly skilled personnel adapted to overseas digital and intelligent port engineering and electromechanical equipment manufacturing. The institute adopts the form of vocational training and combines online and offline teaching modes to provide students with flexible and diversified learning modes and personalised teaching services.
In the previous co-operation, Luban-Mozi College has carried out a number of co-operation projects with its partners. For example, in Malaysia, the College has cooperated with CGT (Shandong) Communication Co Ltd and other partners, relying on the digital renovation and expansion project of Port Klang, to jointly cultivate high-skilled talents for the management and operation of intelligent digital terminals, and constructed a training base for the design of intelligent models for port engineering. In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the College has built an overseas industry-teaching integration training centre (Chinese workshop) in cooperation with China Railway Huagang Mining Co. and carried out a number of ‘Chinese Bridge’ online group projects and offline training activities for enterprise employees. These co-operations have not only improved the vocational skills of the trainees, but also made positive contributions to the local economic and social development.
In terms of school premises, the college relies on the resources of partners such as Cabada Industrial Technical School and China Railway Huagang Mining Company Limited, providing a bright and spacious learning environment and advanced practical training facilities for the trainees. In terms of teaching equipment, according to the demand for intelligent, green and digital development of overseas electromechanical equipment, the college has built a vocational education system of electromechanical integration based on XK-ETT2 electric technology training table, which realises the integration of teaching and doing as well as the professional systematization of skill training. In terms of professional teachers, the College has a high-level internationalised teaching team, who possess International School of Chinese Teachers‘ Certificates as well as rich professional skills and teaching experience, providing a strong guarantee of teachers’ qualifications for the trainees.
