I. Project Overview

Relying on the school's high quality educational resources, Binzhou Polytechnic International School's International Student Programme offers one semester to one academic year of language study or three years of specialist study for Chinese language learners from all over the world, and for international students who wish to pursue a degree in China.

II. Training Objectives

1. to improve Chinese language proficiency and language ability, understand the Chinese national conditions, understand Chinese culture, and have good cross-cultural communication skills;

2. to reach HSK Level 3 in Chinese after one semester and HSK Level 4 after one academic year according to the cultivation plan;

3. the academic students' grades in the basic courses of their majors reach the level of pass and above.

III. Application Requirements

1. General requirements

(1) Non-Chinese citizens who are physically and mentally healthy, friendly to China, have no illegal or criminal records, and hold a valid foreign ordinary passport;

(2) Graduated from high school or have high school education or above;

(3) Applicants who are under 18 years old at the time of application must submit relevant supporting documents at the time of application and admission.

2. Nationality requirements

In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Circular of the Ministry of Education on Regulating the Work Related to the Acceptance of International Students by Our Institutions of Higher Education (No. 12 of the Letter of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Education [2020]).

3. Language Requirements

Academic students must reach HSK level 3 (180 points).

IV. Application Period

1. For one-year programme (September 2025-July 2026), the application period is from 1 March to 30 June 2025;

2. one-semester programmes (February 2026-July 2026), application period is from 15 October to 31 December 2025

Note: Applicants should complete their application and submit all materials at least two weeks before the application deadline.

V. Curriculum

(1) Placement in a language class for Chinese language study according to Chinese language level;

(2) To be admitted to a professional programme according to the chosen major.

VI. Method of Application

1. Application form for admission of foreign students;

2. Passport personal information page (personal ordinary passport, and the validity date must be after 31 October 2024)

3. high school graduation certificate or pre-graduation certificate (with the school's official seal);

4. transcripts of all the courses taken in high school (with the school's official seal);

5. Personal statement in Chinese/English;

It is recommended to provide the following: (1) Personal introduction; (2) Knowledge of China and Binzhou Polytechnic; (3) Knowledge of the declared major (academic students); (4) Study plan.

6. Proof of language level;

Those who apply to study for one semester (enrollment in February 2024) are required to submit HSK level 3 (180 points) score report or corresponding Chinese language proficiency certificate (HSK score report is valid for two years; corresponding Chinese language proficiency certificate must be a letter from the school, which should be signed and stamped with the official seal of the school).

7. Physical examination form for foreigners;

Applicants shall strictly follow the items required in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. The Foreigner Physical Examination Form with missing items, without a photo of the applicant or a riding seal on the photo, or without the signature and seal of the physician and the hospital is invalid. The examination results are valid for 6 months (must be within the validity period at the time of application).

8. Certificate of No Criminal Record (must be valid at the time of application);

9. A scanned copy of the ‘Financial Guarantee for International Students’ and its guarantee materials;

The financial guarantee materials include: (1) The Letter of Financial Guarantee for International Students must be filled out in Chinese or English; (2) Certificate of deposit that can guarantee the reasonable expenses for study, living and international travel during the student's study in China; (3) Scanned copy of the passport or identification of the financial guarantor (limited to the applicant himself/herself or his/her immediate family members)

10. Applicants who are already studying in other universities in China are required to provide a letter of recommendation issued by the International Student Office or International School of the school they belong to, and the contact information of the recommending organisation should be indicated on the letter of recommendation;

11. Applicants under the age of 18 must submit supporting documents;

12. Applicants mentioned in the document ‘Notice of the Ministry of Education on Regulating the Work Related to Acceptance of International Students in Our Higher Education Institutions’ （教外函〔2020〕12号）, must submit relevant supporting documents.

VIII. Notes for Applications

1. All documents uploaded must be in Chinese or English. If the documents are in other languages, the original of the document and the notarised copy of the English or Chinese translation must be uploaded at the same time. Please upload the relevant documents after scanning them in colour with a scanner. Documents taken by mobile phones or cameras will not be accepted, and photocopies will not be accepted. Except for the Physical Examination Form for Foreigners and the signature of an individual, which can appear in handwriting, handwriting is not accepted for all the documents provided.

2. The university will not accept the application if it is incomplete.

3. The University reserves the right to request some applicants to provide original/notarised written copies of the application materials or certified documents issued by designated certification bodies for further checking.

4. The applicant shall guarantee that the application information and application materials provided are true and accurate, and the applicant will be disqualified from applying for, being admitted to, or studying in the university if the admission unit or the certification authority proves that it is untrue.

5. Whether an applicant with foreign nationality has the nationality of the People's Republic of China at the same time shall be subject to the conclusion of the nationality determination by the Exit-Entry Administration of the public security organs of China. If the applicant is found to have Chinese nationality after application, admission and enrollment, the application, admission or study qualification will be cancelled.

IX. Examination and Admission

The college admits applicants on the basis of merit, in some cases in combination with a video interview.

X. Visas

Admitted international students must apply for a study visa in China at the Chinese Embassy (Consulate) in the applicant's home country with the acceptance letter and the application form for study visa in China (JW202). International students studying in China for less than 6 months shall apply for X2 visa, while those studying for more than 6 months shall apply for X1 visa and apply for residence permit within 30 days after their arrival in China.

XI. Registration

Admitted students must report to Binzhou Polytechnic for registration in strict accordance with the time specified in the admission notice. Original graduation certificates and other materials will be verified at the time of registration.

XII. Tuition and Fees

1. Application fee: 500 RMB (application without payment of application fee is invalid; application fee is non-refundable once paid);

2. Tuition fee: RMB 6,000/semester, RMB 12,000/academic year;

3. medical insurance fee: 400 RMB/semester/person, 800 RMB/academic year/person;

According to the regulations of the Chinese Ministry of Education, international students coming to China are required to purchase medical insurance in China. For students who do not have the required medical insurance, the school will not process the registration procedure. 4. Accommodation fee: 3000RMB/semester, 6000/academic year.
