International School organised a cultural practice activity for international students ‘Eat Dumplings at the beginning of Winter, Feel the Taste of China’.

In order to let international students feel the warmth of winter and experience and understand traditional Chinese culture, International School organised a cultural project ‘Eat Dumplings in Winter, Feel the Chinese Taste’ in the afternoon of November 8th. Li Yudi, Dean of International School, Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office, relevant staff of International School and 21 international students attended the activity.

At the activity site, Li Yudi and teachers introduced the origin of dumplings and the important position of dumplings on the table of the northern people, and taught the international students the basic skills of mixing dough, stuffing, rolling out the skin, and wrapping dumplings. Under the careful guidance of the teachers, the international students were very interested in making dumplings, and they studied seriously, tried to make dumplings enthusiastically, and divided the work into clear and lively ways. The international students enjoyed the fruits of their labour in the steaming dumplings, and the whole restaurant was filled with a happy atmosphere.

Through this activity, the international students not only experienced the unique charm of Chinese traditional festivals and the profoundness of Chinese folk culture, but also strengthened the interaction and exchange between Chinese and foreign cultures, which made the international students feel the warmth of ‘home’. In the next step, the college will continue to explore more characteristic cultural practice activities for international students and lead them to experience more Chinese excellent traditional culture.
