To effectively advance the development of talent cultivation plans and student management for the first cohort of undergraduate international students at our university, the International College convened a promotion meeting on the afternoon of July 16 in Conference Room 1414 of the Training Center. Attendees included heads of the International College, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Information Engineering, the School of Chemical and Energy Engineering, and the School of Architectural Engineering, along with their respective teaching directors, program leaders, and student management staff.

At the meeting, the head of the International College reported on the enrollment status of the 2026 cohort of international students, providing a detailed overview of the student composition, program distribution, and progress in preparatory work for their arrival. It was noted that the arrival of the first cohort of undergraduate international students marks a significant milestone in the university's internationalization efforts. All relevant schools were urged to attach great importance to this work and collaborate closely to ensure that the talent cultivation plans are both scientifically sound and practically feasible.

Subsequently, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the development of talent cultivation plans for these international students. Each school, taking into account the specific characteristics of its programs and the actual needs of the students, exchanged views on curriculum design, credit structure arrangements, and the integration of practical teaching components. It was emphasized that the talent cultivation plans should fully embody the "Chinese Language + Vocational Skills" feature, ensuring academic quality while also addressing the language proficiency development and cultural adaptation needs of the international students. The meeting also set clear timelines and task assignments for the development of the plans, requiring each school to work backward from deadlines and take concrete responsibility to ensure timely progress.

Discussions also covered teaching operations, attendance management, academic early warning and support mechanisms, dormitory management, and student life services. It was stressed that all relevant schools should establish coordinated mechanisms and form a unified effort to ensure smooth teaching operations and comprehensive management and support services.

On the morning of July 17, the International College, together with student management staff from the Schools of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Information Engineering, Chemical and Energy Engineering, and Architectural Engineering, organized a meeting for the first cohort of undergraduate international students. During the meeting, student management staff from each school had face-to-face conversations with the international students, gaining a detailed understanding of their academic backgrounds, learning needs, and living conditions, while also providing on-site answers to their questions regarding course arrangements and campus life. This meeting enhanced mutual understanding between faculty and students, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent provision of targeted academic guidance and student support services.

Looking ahead, the International College will continue to work closely with all relevant schools to coordinate the finalization of the talent cultivation plans, ensure the smooth alignment of teaching operations, and strengthen student management and support services. Through these efforts, we aim to ensure the successful implementation of all tasks and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of the university's international education.
