From June 12 to 22, the 2026 China-Europe University Summer Camp "Experience China · Wisdom in Binzhou" was successfully held at Binzhou Polytechnic University. Through a diverse range of activities—including cultural visits, intangible cultural heritage experiences, enterprise tours, language learning, and sports and cultural exchanges—the camp built a platform for in-depth dialogue between Chinese and European youth.

I. Opening Ceremony and Campus Exploration

On June 12, the university held an opening ceremony for the Italian exchange group. Shen Baozhong, President of the university, and Ma Mingyu, Project Manager of the British Accreditation Center and World Skills Development Alliance, attended the ceremony, along with faculty and student representatives from both the university and the Italian exchange group. After the ceremony, the Italian teachers and students toured the university's history museum and campus, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the university's educational history and its achievements in international cooperation.

II. Yellow River Exploration and Cultural Immersion

The university organized the exchange group to visit Xiaojie Village, the Yellow River Tower, the intangible cultural heritage carpet workshop in Pangjia Town, Boxing County, as well as the Binzhou Museum and Cultural Center. They also participated in a traditional Chinese medicine health and wellness course, gaining a multi-faceted understanding of Binzhou's history, culture, and intangible cultural heritage.

III. Enterprise Visits and Industry Insights

During the event, the exchange group visited a number of enterprises and industrial parks in Binzhou, covering fields such as traditional handicrafts, intelligent manufacturing, green ecology, and digital economy. Through these visits, the group gained a comprehensive understanding of the transformation and upgrading of local characteristic industries and the achievements of innovation-driven development in the region.

IV. Chinese Language Classes and Cultural-Sports Exchange

The summer camp offered Chinese language courses, which effectively enhanced the exchange students' Chinese proficiency. Meanwhile, activities such as a social gathering with international students and a friendly volleyball match were organized, fostering emotional connections and promoting mutual understanding and respect across cultures in a relaxed and orderly atmosphere.

V. Closing Ceremony: Cherished Farewells and Lasting Friendships

On the morning of June 22, the closing ceremony was held. The Italian lead teacher expressed gratitude to the university for the thoughtful organization of the program. She noted that the value of international exchange lies not only in the acquisition of knowledge, but also in broadening students' horizons, building their confidence, and cultivating a spirit of inclusiveness. One of the Italian student representatives remarked that the hands-on experience had made China—once a distant and unfamiliar land—feel warm and real. A student representative from our university also shared fond memories of the time spent with their Italian peers, emphasizing that friendship and mutual understanding can transcend borders and unite hearts across cultures.

The summer camp was well-organized and rich in content—a meaningful journey of cross-cultural exchange and a vivid practice of youth friendship. Our university will continue to uphold an open and inclusive approach to education, further expand international cooperation, and contribute actively to promoting mutual understanding among young people from around the world and to the dissemination of China's cultural heritage.
