Experiencing Shandong, Exploring Qilu. On the afternoon of June 17, the Dragon Boat Festival themed cultural event “Friends of Shandong,” hosted by the Binzhou Foreign Affairs Office, was successfully held. More than ten international student representatives from our university's International College, hailing from over seven countries, were invited to participate. Together with other foreign friends living in Binzhou, they visited Huimin County, exploring the Sun Tzu Art of War City and Xincheng Pastoral Eco-Agricultural Zone, immersing themselves in the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture through the fusion of Dragon Boat Festival folk customs and the wisdom of the art of war.

I. Visiting the Hometown of the Military Sage, Appreciating the Profound Cultural Heritage of Thousands of Years

Within the Sun Tzu Art of War City, international students learned about the wisdom of military strategy through bilingual explanations. Timeless concepts such as "Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will never be defeated" continue to inspire people across the centuries. On this Dragon Boat Festival, the students not only experienced the warmth of traditional festivities, but also gained a deeper appreciation of the profound cultural heritage of Binzhou—known as the "City of Wisdom." By exploring the essence of military strategy in the very place where the great sage once lived, they achieved a journey from intellectual understanding to genuine identification through the integration of knowledge and action.
II. Wandering Through an Eco-Agricultural Paradise, Gaining Insight into the Rise of Modern Agriculture

III. Handmade Zongzi to Greet the Festival, Immersing in the Joy of Folk Customs
Hydroponic greenhouses stretched out in layers of lush greenery, while flower greenhouses burst with vibrant colors. Sightseeing buses wound through the connected demonstration zones, unfolding a panorama where technology and ecology intertwined. Through the full-chain industry displays, the international students gained an intuitive understanding of the large-scale agricultural landscape of Binzhou. To read ten thousand books is not enough—one must also travel ten thousand miles. This journey of knowledge and action transformed their understanding of rural revitalization from abstract to concrete, providing vivid material for these young "Binzhou Promotion Officers."
III. Handmade Zongzi to Greet the Festival, Immersing in the Joy of Folk Customs

Folding bamboo leaves, filling them with glutinous rice, and tying them with strings—the international students wrapped both jujubes and curiosity into the verdant leaves. At the Luxiaosen Amusement Park, close interactions with sika deer added a warm and delightful touch to their cultural journey, bringing it to a heartwarming close in the midst of nature's charm. Through hands-on creation and tasteful experience—this immersive journey brought traditional Chinese culture from the pages of books into reality, completing the vibrant "cognition—experience—identification—dissemination" education cycle.
As a significant practice under the "Know Binzhou, Love Binzhou, Recommend Binzhou · Binzhou Promotion Officer" action plan, this event guided international students beyond the classroom, encouraging them to learn through exploration and gain understanding through firsthand experience. With every step across Binzhou, they came to understand the unique charm of the "City of Wisdom." In sharing the stories of Binzhou with the world, they also contributed a lively and authentic chapter from Binzhou Polytechnic to the cultivation of young ambassadors who know and cherish China and Shandong.
