International Exchange | Delegation from the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports Visits Our University

On the afternoon of June 16, a delegation from the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, accompanied by representatives from Dalian University of Technology Press, visited Binzhou Polytechnic University for an exchange visit. Liu Jinyi, head of the university’s Party Committee; Shen Baozhong, head of administration; and Fan Kezhi, a member of the university leadership, attended the event. The two sides held a symposium and engaged in in-depth discussions on areas such as vocational education, the development of practical training bases, and international cooperation, laying a solid foundation for future multifaceted collaboration.

At the meeting, Liu Jinyi introduced the university's educational positioning, institutional strengths, and its vision for international development. He noted that China and Laos share close geographical ties and a deep friendship, and that Laos has accumulated rich experience in the field of vocational education. The university will fully leverage its own advantages to actively support the development of professional teaching standards and vocational skills training for Lao vocational institutions, contributing to the standardized and high-quality development of vocational education in Laos.

He stated that the university will take this exchange as a new starting point to solidly advance Chinese language teaching and the “Chinese + Vocational Skills” programs, deepen personnel exchanges and joint training, promote the sharing of high-quality educational resources between China and Laos, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

Udonris Wongpe, Director of the Research Institute for Educational Sciences under the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, expressed gratitude for the university's warm reception and spoke highly of its remarkable achievements in vocational education, training base development, and talent cultivation. He provided a detailed overview of the current state and urgent needs of vocational education in Laos, and expressed the hope that Lao students would have access to the "Sun Wu Academy" online international Chinese teaching platform. He also looked forward to the continued deepening of cooperation between the two sides.

Zhao Bu, Deputy Director of Dalian University of Technology Press and Director of its International Branch, introduced the press's resource advantages and stated that it would actively serve as a bridge for resource integration and coordination, facilitating the development and export of internationalized vocational education textbooks and cultural exchanges between China and Laos.

Prior to the meeting, the delegation visited the university's history museum and toured the training bases for the three major program clusters—Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Navigation, and Nursing—to gain a comprehensive understanding of the university's educational history and development trajectory.
