On 1st March, the opening ceremony of Sun Wu Academy of Binzhou Polytechnic (Sri Lanka) was held in online form. Li Yudi, Dean of International School and Director of International Exchange and Co-operation, Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Capital University of Sri Lanka, and relevant teachers of the two schools attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Li Yudi introduced that Sunwu Academy, with ‘language as a bridge and culture as a medium’, integrates Chinese philosophy, history, art and other multicultural contents, and elaborately creates a special programme that combines Chinese language teaching and Chinese culture experience. Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda said that this cooperation is an innovative practice for the two universities to implement the ‘Belt and Road’ Education Action Plan, and Sri Lanka Capital University will fully support it. Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda said that this cooperation is an innovative practice for the two universities to implement the educational action plan of ‘Belt and Road’, and the University of Sri Lanka Capital will fully support the construction of the academy, and expects to cultivate composite talents with both language skills and cultural understanding through systematic cultural programmes, so as to inject new momentum into the economic and trade exchanges between the two countries and the humanities.
As an important carrier of Binzhou Polytechnic's overseas cultural dissemination, the completion of Sun Wu Academy marks a new stage of Sino-Spanish vocational education cooperation. In the future, the two sides will continue to deepen the cooperation in education and humanities, and make the Academy a model platform for cultural exchanges between Chinese and Sri Lankan youths, and cultivate more cultural messengers who know China and are friendly to China for the construction of a community of human destiny.
