International School organises ‘Non-heritage Culture - Welcoming the Mid-Autumn Festival’ Cultural Practice Activity

On 14th September, on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival, International School, together with College of Business Administration and Qinghe Township of Huimin County, held a cultural practice activity with the theme of ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage - Welcoming Mid-Autumn Festival’, which was attended by 21 international students from International School and 6 students from College of Business Administration.

Teacher Wang Shengliang, an intangible cultural heritage of Shandong Province, introduced the long history and production process of woodblock prints to the students, who were all eager to try and experience the production of woodblock prints. Under the careful guidance of the pastry chef, the students experienced the production of mooncakes, such as rolling the crust, wrapping the filling, pressing the mould and baking. Through this activity, the international students felt the strong atmosphere of Chinese traditional festivals. It brought them closer to the excellent traditional Chinese culture.

As a next step, we will continue to excavate the essence of traditional culture, vigorously carry forward the excellent Chinese culture, tell the Chinese story, spread the Chinese voice, make this cultural bridge stronger and wider, connect the hearts and minds of people in more countries and regions, and jointly draw a beautiful picture of the exchanges and mutual understanding of human civilisation.
