Guinea and China have deep friendly relations, and the two sides have been cooperating closely in the fields of economy, trade and investment. In order to address the relatively weak level of education and the shortage of technical and skilled personnel in Guinea, the two sides plan to strengthen cooperation in technical education and vocational training.

On this basis, relying on the strategic cooperation between Shandong Provincial Department of Education and Nonferrous Metal Industry Talent Centre, as well as the in-depth cooperation experience between Shandong vocational colleges and enterprises such as China Nonferrous Mining Group, it has been decided to establish Luban Mozi College (or known as China-Guinea University of Engineering and Technology) in Guinea.

The college will adopt the mode of government co-ordination, industry linkage, school-enterprise co-operation, with enterprises taking the lead and vocational colleges and universities as the support, implement academic education and vocational training, and carry out the overseas talent training of ‘Chinese language + vocational skills’. The college aims to cultivate a high-level local technical and skilled talent team that ‘understands Chinese language, understands culture, and is proficient in skills’ to serve the needs of Chinese-funded enterprises in Guinea as well as the local socio-economic development. Specific initiatives include training local employees, academic education, sending international students, cooperating with local institutions, jointly developing teaching resources and conducting research on vocational education.
