On October 23, a delegation led by Chi Yudan, Deputy Director of the Provincial Public Security Department’s Exit-Entry Administration Corps and Commander of the Comprehensive Management Detachment; Wang Mingxin, First-Class Police Inspector of the Comprehensive Management Detachment under the Provincial Public Security Department’s Exit-Entry Administration Corps; Chen Yanshuang, Commander of the Exit-Entry Administration Detachment of the Municipal Public Security Bureau; and Fang Xuerui, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Bincheng Branch of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, visited our university to conduct a research visit on the daily management and service work for international students in China. The head of the International College and all international student affairs staff attended the symposium.

At the symposium, the International College extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the provincial, municipal, and district entry-exit management departments and expressed gratitude for the long-standing care and support provided by entry-exit management authorities at all levels for the management of international students at our university. The college provided an overview of the international student population, including enrollment size, distribution by country of origin, academic background, and daily management mechanisms. It highlighted the achievements made in the university’s international student education programs while objectively outlining the current difficulties and challenges faced. As a vital component of the university’s internationalization strategy, the management of international students has always been integrated into the university’s overall international development plan, with continuous efforts to enhance both the scale and quality of international student education.
After carefully listening to the work report, Chi Yudan fully affirmed the university’s achievements in the standardized management, refined services, and distinctive educational approaches for international students. She noted that the university has sound management mechanisms and solid implementation measures, and that its practices in areas such as university-police collaboration, cultural education, and compliance management are well-regulated and serve as a good model for others to emulate.

Following the roundtable discussion, the research team reviewed the administrative records for international students on site and visited international student classrooms to gain firsthand insight into classroom instruction and on-campus management.
This research initiative further streamlined communication channels between our university and provincial, municipal, and district immigration authorities, deepened the university-police collaboration mechanism, and clarified the approach and direction for the high-quality development of education and management for international students at our university. Moving forward, the School of International Studies will continue to uphold an open and inclusive educational philosophy, consistently strengthen compliance management, and optimize educational services. It will focus on cultivating more international talents with a global perspective and cross-cultural communication skills to support the university’s internationalization efforts.
