Recently, International College organized international students to go into Qinghe Town and Jianglou Town of Huimin County, Binzhou, to start a deep experience journey integrating non-heritage culture, Yellow River history and modern agriculture. From the marvelous metamorphosis of soybeans to the thousand-year echo of the Yellow River, from the sweet philosophy of pear orchards to the field practice empowered by science and technology, the international students felt the temperature and wisdom of the Chinese vernacular in the immersive visit.

At Shandong Dongfang Soybean Products Co., Ltd. in Qinghe Town, international students gained an in-depth understanding of the production process of soybean products and its history of development. From the selection of high-quality soybeans, through soaking, grinding, cooking pulp, pointing brine to pressing and molding, each step contains traditional wisdom and craftsmanship inheritance, which made them marvel at this non-heritage technology.

White Dragon Bay Scenic Spot is a vivid classroom of Yellow River culture. International students strolled through the scenic area, appreciated the natural scenery along the Yellow River, and felt the magnificence and spirituality of the mother river. The Yellow River culture display in the scenic spot vividly shows the historical changes of the Yellow River, the achievements of governance and the production life of the people along the river through rich historical materials and objects, so that the international students have a more intuitive and profound understanding of the magnificence and depth of the Yellow River culture.

The Pear Garden in Autumn has become a popular place for international students to visit. When the pear blossoms were in full bloom, the pear blossoms as white as snow were beautiful as far as the eye could see. The students strolled around the garden to enjoy the flowers and take photos, and also learned in detail about the growth cycle, planting technology and management points of the Autumn Moon Pear, and were full of curiosity and interest in the cultivation process of this specialty agricultural product.

Finally, coming to Yuan Sheng Watermelon Cooperative in Jianglou Town, Huimin County, the selenium-enriched watermelon picking activity excited the international students. Under the guidance of the person in charge of the cooperative, they personally went to the field to select and pick watermelons, tasted the sweetness and juiciness of the picking watermelons, experienced the joy of harvesting, and at the same time deeply felt the unique agricultural charm and local customs of the local countryside.

At twilight, the international students set off for home with soil-stained shoes and heavy harvests. The fragrance of beans in the non-heritage workshop, the afterglow of the Yellow River, the fragrance of the pear orchard and the crunching sound of watermelon cracking are intertwined into a new coordinate for their understanding of the Chinese countryside - where ancient skills and modern agriculture are not separated fragments of space and time, but are renewed civilization on the same piece of land.
