I. Introduction to Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Belarus

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno (Гродненский государственный университет имени Янки Купалы), located in the Grodno Region in the northwestern part of Belarus, is the second largest comprehensive university in Belarus, as well as the largest local university in Belarus. Founded on 22 February 1940, the Grodno State University is the scientific, cultural and educational centre of the Grodno Region, as well as a perennial third-ranked Belarusian comprehensive university, and the second in Belarus for its cybermetrics. Known for the rigour and quality of its teaching, YKSUG is also the most recognised Belarusian university in Western Europe, and holds a significant position among Belarusian universities in terms of academic standing. Grodno State University is ranked 199th in QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia.

The University has 15 departments, 86 faculties, 17,161 students, 2,110 staff members, 273 associate professors and 323 professors. II. Co-operation projects between the two schools

(i) Project Overview

‘3+1+1’ undergraduate and master's programmes: for current specialists and graduates. Students study at Binzhou Polytechnic for three years and at the same time take a bridge course for undergraduate studies offered by the Belarusian State University of Grodno in cooperation with Binzhou Polytechnic (in the second semester of the third academic year or after graduation from the speciality or adult education, they complete a bridge course for the period from speciality to undergraduate studies in Binzhou Polytechnic for a period of 3-5 months), and obtain a diploma of the college and a certificate of completion of the bridge course for the undergraduate studies. Upon review of the documents, passing the entrance test and interview, they are placed in the fourth year of the Belarusian State University of Grodno for a one-year study. After completing the credits and meeting all graduation criteria, students receive an undergraduate diploma. After obtaining the undergraduate diploma, students are automatically admitted to the Master's programme at the Grodno State University, which lasts 1-2 years, depending on the speciality. Upon completion of studies and meeting the qualifications for the award of a master's degree, students will be awarded a master's degree certificate of the University, which will be certified by the Service Centre for Scholarly Exchange of the Ministry of Education of China upon their return to their home countries and enjoy the treatment of international students returning to their home countries.
